Hi, this week we have been working on speeches for discrinitaion. My speech is going well so far and I cant wait to share it. This is the introduction of my speech so far. Have you ever been told that you can not vote because you are a women ? Well that is what has happened back in the olden days. Yes that has changed now and women can vote but the world is still not even. The world is so divided and it is not just women that are being affected.
What are your thoughts on it.
I was a pupil at St Francis of Assisi School and this blog is where I shared my learning. This blog has been archived, no further content will be uploaded or added. You are welcome to continue viewing posts, however commenting has been disabled.

Goals
Hi, Today I am going to be sharing my goals with you for term two. My first goal is to try out more things so I can become more part of the school community and have fun.
My next goal is to be more efficient at my school work so I don't get behind.
My last goal for this term is to be more inclusive to new people and people I may not know well.
Do you have any goals for this year?

Cross County
Hi, today I am going to be telling you about Cross county for school. I love running and was really looking forward to this event. My friend Makayla and I had done some training together at school and were looking forward to racing each other. I was so nerves lining up at the starting line but won the race and am pleased I made zones. Do you like cross county?
Plastics
Hi, This term for technology I have been moved to plastics - Yah! I have never done plastics before and know nothing about it so have been really excited to get started and find out more. The first task we had to do was make a dice. It was harder than it sounds. First we had to line up the holes exactly and make sure each side added up to seven. Then we had to drill through the dots we had made on the plastic. We then sanded the edges to smooth them out and help the dice roll better. Next we rubbed out the pencil lines we had made marking the dots with special sandpaper so the dice wouldn't get ruined. Then we sanded the dice with yellow and black sandpaper again to get rid of any imperfections.
We then polished the dice and re drilled the holes to make them clean. Lastly we painted the holes and left them to dry. I cant wait for the next task.

discrimination
Hi, this week we have been working on speech's about discrimination ( sexism, racism, ageism and/or ableism). I am specifically doing one on sexism. So far I have got my main points and the body of my story I just need to put it into a speech and practice. I am really looking forward to doing my speech and hope it goes well. Would you like to do speech's?

P.B.L
what are human rights?
what are the different types of discrimination?
what is discrimination?
what does an up stander do?
what are stereotypes and bias?
We had a group chat about what we thought about discrimination. All of my hub knew about sexism and racism and most of us thought that is was sad that people were being bullied for something they couldn't change. After we had discussed sexism and racism the teachers told us about some other things that people get discriminated against (ableism and ageism). At the end of the talk I felt sad for the people that have to go through all this, lucky because I did not experience any of this but also confused because we are all human and no one wants or deserves to be discriminated against.
