Maths

Hi, welcome back to my blog. Today I will be showing you my maths task for this week. The two goals for the maths workshop this week are: Identify and describe 2D and 3D shapes using mathematical language. For my create task I had shapes and I had to categorise them.

Another goal that I did was: Represent objects with drawings and models.
for the create task I had to make these shapes with multilink cubes

Then I had to put them all together to create a cube. This was the end result.

For the final question I had to make a cube but this time make different shapes that go together to make the cube. We had to draw these on isometric paper.
This is what I did.

That was my create tasks. Do you know some of the shapes on the blue sheat? or can you tell me another way to create the cube?

  1. Kia ora Isabella,

Thank you for sharing your math learning with the blogging world. It is a very clear table and includes a great amount of detail about each area. It is great that you included a picture of each, because sometimes it is hard to imagine what the shape looks like based on its name. I think that other students could use this to help their own geometry learning. What do you think?

Keep up the great learning and blogging,
:) Sharon - Te Ara Tūhura Education Programme Leader
